Keep your Macbook secret by turning it into a real book
A whole new take on the e-Book concept
We’re all for innovation here on The Gadget Show, so we’re giving this creative take on the laptop case a double thumbs-up.
The BookBook tucks your Apple lap-warmer inside what appears to be an old, well-used leather-bound tome, disguising it as nothing more than a bit of innocent reading material to the untrained eye. It’s well protected too thanks to plenty of padding on the inside and on the spine.
Small design details such as the zipper pulls looking like bookmarks and the hand-distressed outer cover help sell the illusion, while elastic straps inside the case hold your precious Macbook in place and are designed to let you open and use your laptop without removing it from the case and revealing your secret.
There are two colours to choose from – a dark brown with a black spine or a lighter shade with a red spine – and it comes in 13in and 15in variations too.
Its maker, TwelveSouth, is selling the BookBook in the US for $80, but we’re hoping this high-tech page-turner hits the UK Apple Store before too long.
