I have one of the originals - RVB90G, 60 Watts total power - from back in 1999 where for three years it got me through the mundaness of working at Safeway.
This thing has taken a lot - and i mean A LOT - of abuse over the last 11 years and it still punches the bass out as if it were new. But having been dropped on concrete and tarmac a few times from a respectable height, and general bashing throughout University as well the tape deck and backlight have given up.
I remember sticking it in my boot (powered of the car battery) and comparing the sound to my mates 400W JBL bassbox. We all agreed this compared very well, but lost out on the really deep bass power. Nowadays I hook it up to my Archos MP3 player and it still rattles the doors and furnishings
Sadly the newer versions only appear to be 40Watts total output, but it's still likely to be the best product of its kind.
Best £140 I ever spent.
