JVC GC-PX10 takes on the camcorder and camera market
The JVC GC-PX10 looks like a cross between Sony’s NEX camera range and a regular camcorder, and it sits somewhere between the two in terms of capabilities. It’s packed with features, and could be worth a look if you like both photography and shooting movies.
The actual body of the JVC GC-PX10 looks similar to Sony’s NEX range – with a large, flat handgrip, and a super skinny casing from which the lens protrudes. Unlike the NEX, you won’t be able to swap the lens, but then again there’s no real need to.

The JVC GC-PX10 is capable of shooting 1080p video at 60fps, making it ideal for even the most demanding of users. If you’re more interested in speed, and capturing images in slow motion, then JVC’s 300fps option will be ideally suited, although you’ll have to drop down to a 640×360-pixel resolution.
On the stills side of things, the JVC GC-PX10 can manage to take 8.3-megapixel snaps, without even having to take a break from your movie. If that’s not good enough, JVC has also included a stills mode, letting you take 12-megapixel snaps.
Looks pretty impressive to us. Although we’d still be tempted to take a proper DSLR for regular photographs.
