JVC Everio Hybrid gets the X factor

JVC Everio Hybrid gets the X factor The JVC Everio X Hybrid: a small camcorder with a big price

JVC’s latest Everio hybrid camcorder has something in common with the X-Men, X-Factor and, erm, Xavi (you know, the Spanish footballer). Yep, it’s got an X in its name. Luckily for us that’s not (by a long chalk) the best thing about the JVC Everio X Hybrid.

The JVC Everio X Hybrid is a Full-HD, 1920×1080 camcorder that can also capture nine-megapixel stills. That’s pretty impressive considering that it weighs just 300g and is about the size of your average mobile phone, putting it in the same size-league as the Creative Vado HD and Flip Mino Ultra.

Unfortunately with small size come lack of responsibility. What we mean buy that is that JVC has had to do away with internal memory in the Everio X Hybrid to achieve the small size. Luckily an SDHC memory card will sort that.

With recording speeds of up to 500fps you won’t miss a second of the action. And thanks to some bundled software, transferring your clips of your kids whacking you in your gentleman’s area ‘by accident’ to YouTube becomes a breeze. And all for the rather hefty price tag of £800. It’s out in June, so get saving now!
