Is the Ciclotte the future of bikes?

Unicycle? Maybe you need to cycle, but we've got the Ciclotte!

We’ve seen our fair share of weird bikes on the Gadget Show, most notably Ortis’ recent sejour on the Enicycle, but the Ciclotte exercise bike takes the award for the most quirky design we’ve seen.

Shown off at the recent Milan design show, the Ciclotte is a futuristic exercise bike that wouldn’t look out of place in some bizarre sci-fi film set in the distant future.

Designed by young Italian designer Luca Schieppati, the idea behind this concept is to bring into everyday life “a design that’s an authentic expression of contemporary lifestyle, where work and relaxation co-exist in the same dimension”. Right. Well, we don’t know about that, but we do know we like what we see.

Details are still on the light side, but we do know the Ciclotte is made almost entirely from carbon fibre. And for people who like a bit of fresh air when they exercise the model on the left of the picture is road-worthy. That should garner a few interested looks!
