iRiver Wi-Fi Story goes on sale iRiver Story – now with added Wi-Fi

iRiver has just outed a new Wi-Fi eBook reader for the UK market. It’s being released in conjunction with WH Smiths, and hooks up to the retailer’s online store via its wireless connection.

The Linux-based iRiver Story comes with 6-inch 800×600 greyscale display, 2GB of internal memory (expandable to 32GB) and that all-important Wi-Fi connection, meaning you can download books on tho go, a la Kindle.

There’s also a speaker, headphone socket and microphone and it’ll happily chomp on Microsoft Office files and PDFs, and the QWERTY keyboard will let you take memos and make annotations.

It sports a bespoke comic-book reader, although bear in mind it’s a greyscale display, so perhaps not the best for enjoying the wonders of DC or Marvel.

The iRiver Wi-Fi Story will be available at WHSmith and other retailers for £250.
