iRiver Cover Story touches down

iRiver Cover Story touches down Get in touch with the iRiver Cover Story

iRiver is looking to muscle into the touchscreen eReader market with the Cover Story, a 6in Wi-Fi-toting reader now up for pre-order through Waterstones.

Very much aimed at the Sony Reader Touch, the Cover Story ditches the physical keyboard seen on the iRiver Story launched earlier this year, with the result a much sleeker device dominated by the touch-friendly 600×800 display.

A wide array of eBook file formats are supported, namely EPUB, PDF, TXT, FB2 and DJVU, and the Cover Story can also display image files, as well as Word, Excel and Powerpoint docs.

You get 2GB of storage inside for storing your eBooks and other files, and can add more by SD card. Just launched in the US, the Cover Story offers Wi-Fi as an option there, but the Waterstones version has it as standard, allowing you to buy eBooks directly from the book vendor’s site, and check your email through the on-board email client.

We’ve yet to hear just when the iRiver Cover Story will be shipping, but you can secure yours by hopping over to Waterstones online now, and laying down £149 of your hard-earned.
