iPhone 4 update released
iPhone 4 – minor niggles addressed
The iPhone 4 OS update has been released today. iPhone iOS 4.0.1 is now available to iPhone 4 owners next time they hook up to their Mac or PC.
The update will reportedly fix a few minor niggles with the new handset, as well as Apple’s apparent improved “formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display.” It won’t, however, be able to fix the core issue of the hardware’s antenna issues. Apple is holding a press conference this evening to address the iPhone’s ongoing problems.
iPads also get an update too, to iOS 3.2.1 for iPad. It adds improved Wi-Fi performance and a collection of minor bug fixes. Neither of these downloads will pack any new functionality – they are designed only to address small OS niggles.
Have you updated? Has it made any noticeable difference? Let us know below…

Put my phone into restore mode, error 21, would not do a restore at all. Used another pc with iTunes and got it back to empty but working. Then it would sync to the proper pc but could not find a backup. Bought iPhone backup extractor and found only one os4 backup with nothing in it. At least I was able to recover my pictures from the last os3 iPhone 3 backup. Will be checking that there is something in the current backup later tonight. Not

Tried to do the update via laptop and a desktop via itunes and comes up with an error after downloading 550mb update !!! after finding a way to download the update independantly and using itunes... pressing SHIFT+RESTORE and locatign the file manually, finally got the update on... The signal icon has changed in the top left corner, but signal still seems a low (1bar) compared to a 3gs (3bar in the same house hold

Got the update with no problems, after taking the best part of 2 hours to complete. There is a noticeable diffrance of improved performance though.
