Have a Cowon, man!
"Touch me, touch me," sang Samantha Fox. And now the Cowon S9 is singing it too...
You’ve heard of golden balls. Well, allow us to introduce you to Mr Namkyu Park, aka Golden Ears. This chap is the CEO of Cowon and all-round audio supremo. Apparently he can distinguish between the smallest of sounds. What’s all this got to do with anything? Well, Mr G Ears himself has overseen the development of Cowon’s latest MP3 player – the Cowon S9.
So, straight off the bat we know that this little beauty is going to sound superb. But what else has it got to tempt us away from the abundance of other music tech on the market? Well, aside from the 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen? Oh yes. This rude boy is squaring up fascia to fascia with the iPod Touch. And in its armoury it’s packing stereo Bluetooth 2.0 for wireless headphones, a built-in mic for voice recording and the choice of 8GB or 16GB storage capacities. Oh and it looks gorgeous too. So how much will this piece of musical brilliance set us back? £169 for the 8GB version and £199 for the 16GB player. We like the sound of it already – almost as much as old Golden Ears himself.
