Green up your home
Look out the window. It's time to save the planet with green gadgets...
Crazy weather conditions are just one sign that the planet is weeping. We’ve abused Mother Nature for too long, been making too many Yo Mama Nature jokes behind her back, and now she’s giving up. So what you going to do about it, hmm? You’re going to green up with the help of these three eco-friendly widgets for your office, that’s what!
Eco Button This big, green, fairly unattractive button switches your PC to its energy-saving standby mode. Then when you turn it on again, it’ll tell you exactly how much energy you have saved, giving you a warm glow, even when the world around you is colder than an ice bath in the winter.
Siemen’s Gigaset S685 DECT phone Landlines have taken a hell of a beating from mobiles in recent years, but they’re still just about standing. The Siemen’s Gigaset S685 DECT phone (pictured) features voicemail, a 250-contact memory, hands-free, and uses up to 60 per cent less energy in ecoDECT mode.
Pure Evoke 2S This is Pure’s top-of-the-range FM/DAB radio, and it gets an eco-friendly overhaul with a crisp, two-line OLED display and a proper power off button, so you can head to no-juice nirvana quicker than a broken arrow through your heart. Superb sound, 30W RMS power and live rewind complete the eco line-up.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen of the Gadget Show, I am new to your web pages but have been a long standing fan of your shows. It is a really good programme - informative but mostly fun! Is there or has there been a Silver Tech feature that I have missed. I am trying to find a mobile phone to suit my Aunt - she is from the Older Generation but is in no way 'elderly'. She is as fit as a fiddle and active in mind and spirit too. However we wnat to find a replacement mobile phone (pay as you go) that she can have in the car 'just in case'. The reason I am coming to you then is can you recommend phones wiht big buttons, simple screen menus and voice dial? I also ask as she is also gradually moving into the 21st Century in her Welsh home (no longer on analogue TV) and so on, so I am looking for a PVR to replace the analogue video... If you have a moment any pointers would be greatly appreciated. thank you Cas
