Google TV to get apps, iPhone control and voice control
Google TV – revolution in your living room?
More details about the hotly anticipated Google TV service this week, with news that the search giant’s living room invasion would be accompanied with voice commands and a smartphone app.
A new Google TV demo was revealed at the IFA event in Berlin, with Google’s Britney Bohnet saying “Soon we’ll be bringing tens of thousands of the same apps you can get on your mobile phone to your TV, launching support for Android market in early 2011.”
The demo at IFA also showed Google TV being controlled by a full QWERTY keyboard and a wireless pointer, but Bohnet went on to say that you’ll be able to control Google TV through an iPhone and Android app and that there’ll also be voice commands. She said: “Can you imagine searching for a channel using your voice? That’s all going to be possible in just a few months.”
Google TV will arrive in a Sony Google TV, a Sony Blu-ray player and a Logitech set-top box at launch. We’re promised that they’ll come packing “incredible remote controls” and the ability to search the web, live television, recorded shows, on-demand programming and more from one box.
YouTube will get special treatment from the Google TV hardware with a graphics accelerator. And a YouTube Movies store also suggests full-on film rental/streaming service from Google very soon.
Google TV will be hitting the US in the autumn and the UK early next year.

I can't wait to see how they integrate this with hulu / tvcatchup / seesaw / freeview hd / iplayer / demand 5 / 4od / itv player / facebook tv channels / YouTube / HTML 5 and flash. Let's just say I'm prepared to be disappointed.
