Google Search by Image and Voice Search features launched
When it comes to internet search engines, Google is easily the biggest, but Google isn’t content to rest on its laurels. Instead, the search giant is rolling out a voice activated search feature, along with an image search, making it even more user friendly.
The new Voice Search will initially be available in Chrome, with English the only supported language at launch. All you have to do is click on a microphone icon at the side of the search bar, and say what you want to find more details of.
For us, however, it’s the Search by Image feature that’s more impressive. Unlike the Voice Search, it’ll be available in Firefox as well, as long as you have a compatible plugin.
Instead of having to search by name or other information, Search by Image does pretty much what it says on the tin, letting you drag and drop an image to the search bar, where Google will then try its best to recognise it and come up with suitable results. Search by Image is perfect for trying to track down holiday destinations or locations of your old photographs.
Both Voice Search and Search by Image will be available in the next few days, with the latter already popping up and working fine in our web browser.
