Google Nexus One launches on Vodafone
Google Nexus One – pre-order now
Vodafone has opened its doors on pre-orders of the Google Nexus One today. The top-end Android handset is now available to select directly from Vodafone now, ready for 30 April. Vodafone stores and telesales will have the handset from 1 May.
The Nexus One was originally intended to be sold directly by Google itself, but Voda is now providing sales and direct support for the handset, so there’s no need to go to Google if you have any niggles.
The Vodafone Google Nexus One comes preloaded with Google Maps Navigation, so it’s a fully blown satnav with turn-by-turn navigation and search by voice functionality.
Price plans for the Google Nexus One start at £25 per month on a 24-month deal, with the chance to get the handset free if you stump up £35 a month over two years. There are also 18-month packages up for grabs.

I was waiting for the Nexus, but got fed up and went for the HTC Desire instead, which is slightly better, and slightly cheaper on T-Mobile. The Nexus is excellent as well, just a pity it took so long getting here, the shine has kind of gone off it a little. Android is an excellent OS for these phones and I'll never to go back to Nokia, or switch to an iPhone now.
