Google Chrome gets app store
Google Chrome – apps incoming
Google has just announced plans to unveil an all-new Chrome web store. The new marketplace will be a one-stop shop for Chrome users who want to get their hands on the latest Google web apps, including games and add-ons.
The store now means that Chrome will have a dedicated suite of apps, including Sports Illustrated, TweetDeck and Plants vs Zombies. Big-name titles such as FIFA World Cup 2010 are also said to be in the works, and Google seems to be courting the developers that are fans of Android and Apple platforms.
Google says that buying app will be a one-click process, just like Android Marketplace and iTunes App Store. The Chrome Web Store is not due to go live until later this year, most likely to tie in with the launch of Chrome OS. It was also revealed yesterday that Chrome now has 70 million users worldwide.
