Gig Pack scooter backpack makes commuting more fun
This is a novel way to get around. What you are looking at is the Gig Pack scooter backpack – a commuter-friendly backpack that collapses into a scooter, complete with a handy little holder to store said backpack when whizzing along.
Designed by Brazil-based designer Gustavo Brenck, the Gig Pack’s compact shape and function makes it suitable for both outdoor adventure and everyday use. Best of all, its small size should mean that carrying the gig pack on the train is less likely to annoy fellow train commuters than more burly backpacks.
The nylon backpack has plenty of room to store essential knick knacks, and has its own notebook compartment, which can of course be used to store other items.
It is the folding scooter part where the gig pack really impresses. Unzipping a compartment on the back, and then unfolding a board transforms the backpack into a scooter quickly and easily.
The scooter will support passengers up to 200 pounds, or 14 stone, so you can tell that the gig pack is a well built piece of kit, and pretty ingenious if we say so ourselves.
Unfortunately the Gig Pack is still in the concept stage, and without a release date, but you can bet that designer Gustavo will be eager to get this one past the concept stage, and onto the streets.
