Get your Oakley Tron: Legacy 3D specs on The 'first optically correct 3D eyewear on Earth'

My, what a long way we’ve come from those awful cheap red and blue 3D shades that until recent years were par for the course if you take any viewing experience to the third dimension.

Check out these babies: not only are they fully functioning 3D specs, but they’re made by cool sunglass brand Oakley – and to top it all off, they’ve been given a style makeover to mark the 3D release of the even cooler Tron: Legacy movie, due out in December.

Oakley claims the HDO-3D technology built into these suave specs makes them the “first optically correct 3D eyewear on Earth”, while we’re also promised less crosstalk or ghosting, while increased lens curvature should guarantee a wider field of view.

The plan, obviously, is that you wear your special edition Oakley Tron shades to the debut of the film itself, and your declaration of geeky fandom certainly won’t go unnoticed thanks to the unmistakably Tron cool blue detailing on the specs’ arms. You also get a similarly accented Microclear bag to hold your lens-cleaning goodies.

All that’s left is to say it’ll take $150 of your hard-earned and to wrap your head in your very own 3D Tron eyewear, and you’ll be able to do so from next month.
