Garmin Asus releases Android phone for lost pedestrians
Garmin Asus – finding its way here soon
If you’re the kind of person that gets lost jogging to the corner shop, then the Garmin Asus A10 could be the perfect device for you. It’s an Android smartphone with GPS mapping at its core, with a unique pedestrian navigation system, thanks to Garmin’s mapping smarts.
The A10 comes packing a 3.2-inch HVGA multitouch screen, a five megapixel camera and Android Market access, plus Exchange support to get your work email on the go. But it’s the cityXplorer public transport maps and routes preloaded that make this handset unique – although there’s also an audio mount to boost volume for car use too.
Of course, you could get much the same service from Google Maps Navigation, though the preloaded maps do mean that you don’t need to wait until you’re in 3G range.
The Garmin Asus A10 goes on sale in Europe in the middle of the year, although we’ve no details on pricing as yet.
