Tivo introduced 2000 into the UK, clearly the winner for me, and especially as one of the few gadgets that gets 100% from the other half - many imitators but few come close. Also, missing from this list is the Canon 300D or perhaps 350D, the first because it was the first consumer DSLR and the second because it was the first affordable DSLR and where's the mention of the first mobile phones, a collection of modern phones does not constitute the gadget of the decade.
This appears to be the usual gadget show pandering to specific manufacturers (Apple?) and not a true reflection of all that's was/is available. The gadget of the year should be one of those that creates a new concept (Tivo) or takes and existing one and improves it completely.
