Full HD 3D-shooting JVC GS-TD1 now on sale
The first full HD 3D camcorder
JVC has announced that the GS-TD1 camcorder is now on sale in the UK.
So what’s so significant about that, we hear you ask? Well, it might help if we told you the GS-TD1 was the world’s first full HD 3D camcorder.
First announced at CES at the beginning of January, JVC’s high-spec 3D shooter is the first to featuring all the 3D-shooting essentials built right into the chassis – as opposed to coming via an additional lens like on the rival Panasonic SDT750 introduced last year.
It’s distinctive looks are thanks to the dual lenses, which are backed by twin back-illuminated CMOS sensors. You can even watch your 3D video creations right there on the 3.5in touchscreen LCD without having to wear 3D glasses.
On-board storage is a healthy 64GB, and you can add more via SDXC card.
JVC has slapped a £1,599 price tag on the GS-TD1, which – sadly – should rule all but the most well-heeled or dedicated of 3D video enthusiasts out of ever owning one.

@ Andy - I think you've got a bit mixed up - Avatar wasn't quite filmed with a consumer level Sony 3d camcorder... I'd love to get one though if it was!
