Foxit eSlick joins the eBook reader fray
Foxit rocks up at the eBook reader party
Another day, and – it seems – another eBook reader.
If you’ve been blinded by the Kindle vs Sony Reader hype, you might be surprised to hear that the eSlick has actually been around for quite a while – at least in the US. Now, thanks to the good folks at iwoot.com, we can get page-turning with Foxit here in Blighty too.
At 160g, it’s considerably lighter than its chief rivals, and at £189 it’s competitively priced too. Supplied PDF conversion software means any printable document can be rendered as a PDF and viewed on the eSlick, with 512MB of on-board storage supplemented by a 2GB SD card in the box.
It can play back MP3s too, but lacks a Wi-Fi connection, requiring files to be transferred either via the memory card or a USB cable.
Still, leading up to Christmas we’re willing to bet the eSlick will find favour with a good few eBook fans not willing to hand their cash over to Sony or Amazon.

Foxit didn't just join it. Foxit announced this last year and started shipping in March. The news is that a new firmware will come out soon.
