Formula 3 car guzzles chocloate!
Introducing the WorldFirst racing car: a chocoholic Formula 3 car!
While Formula 1 is desperately trying to cut costs and show some semblance of an eco-friendly side, Formula 3 has come up trumps on both parts with this WorldFirst Racing car fuelled by vegetable oil and… wait for it… waste chocolate.
The WorldFirst racing car is first and foremost a real racing car. While the body is made from recycled carbon fibre and organic materials (the wing endplates are potato starch covered with flax fibre, while the seat is made from a flax-fibre shell, recycled polyester and soybean foam – sounds good enough to eat), it’s goal is still speed.
That’s enough about the chassis though. What about the engine? Well, the WorldFirst uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre BMW diesel that’s been modified to run on vegetable oil and waste chocolate. So, the question everyone wants to know the answer to… how fast can you go on chocolate? The answer is a whopping 140mph!
If you want to see the WorldFirst in action, then check out a demonstration at the GoodWood Festival of Speed on July 3.
