Flip pocket cams get 50fps upgrade
Flip's new 50fps-shooting MinoHD
The Flip Mino, the original YouTube camcorder that spawned a flock of imitators, has been given an update to help it keep clear of the pocket-cam pack.
Both the Flip MinoHD and UltraHD still offer 720p video recording as before, but now let you record in high-quality 50fps complete with image stabilisation – the result being all your favourite memories stored in HD, with not a hint of the shakes.
Also new is the FlipPort, a universal attachment connector for a new range of accessories, including external microphones, battery chargers and a portable projector. All models come with the FlipShare software pre-loaded for sharing clips easily, and you can really give your pocket cam the personal touch by choosing from thousands of design options when ordering online; you can even upload an image of your own.
The MinoHD is available in 8GB (£179) and 4GB (£149) variants – good for two hours and one hour of shooting respectively, while a 50fps version of the more basic UltraHD has also been introduced for £179. The new arrivals are set to go on sale in November, but can be pre-ordered online now.
