Five for the weekend, new games, new phones and some mind-boggling tech

If you thought the post-CES 2012 week would cause a lull in all things good and gadgety, you’d be wrong. The past five days have seen lots of cool announcements and reveals taking in powerful smartphones and tablets and some awesome gaming news.

From an iPhone case that heals itself upon getting scratched to the reveal of a new Resident Evil game – it’s been a good week. Those are just two of the highlights in our pick of the best gadget news this week. Read on for more.

New Asus Transformer Prime TF700 out this summer

If you were thinking of ordering an Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, it might be better to wait for the TF700 version. A UK price and date has yet to be confirmed, but the TF700 is an upgrade on the features on the original. We’ll be bringing you more news as we hear it.

What a wonderful surprise this was. Late last night, Capcom took the covers of Resident Evil 6, coming to PS3, PC and Xbox 360 this November. Resident Evil protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield team up to take on the latest bioterrorist threat, in what Capcom says is the most ambitious Resident Evil game yet.
