Five cool kitchen radios for the techie fan!
Christmas is fast approaching, and while the deadline for getting in those last minute online orders is running out, there’s still plenty of time to head to the shops. With that in mind we’ve picked out five cool kitchen radios for the gadget fan.
Each of the radios below would make a fantastic last minute gift, and are some of the best radios you’ll find that would take pride of place on any kitchen worktop, bedroom, or even the lounge.
Pure EVOKE 1-S Marshall Pure makes some terrific radios. The Pure EVOKE 1-S Marshall is the latest version of one of its most popular radios. It’s shaped like an amp, and in an ode to the film Spinal Tap, has a volume knob that that goes up to 11. It features digital and FM radio, an OLED display that shows the name of the radio station you’re listening to, a generous 30 presets and a dedicated kitchen timer button.
Tangent DAN 2go This dinky retro-styled FM and DAB radio radio comes in a range of lovely finishes and uses batteries so that you can take it with you wherever you go, which in a busy kitchen could come in handy. It can be charged by USB, has an alarm clock with a snooze button for bedside placements and a headphone output.
Revo Axis The Revo Axis is one of the best Internet and DAB radios to release this year. It uses Wi-Fi to hook up to your internet connection to access thousands of radio stations, and can wirelessly stream music files from your Mac or PC, displaying full album artwork on its 3.5-inch touch screen display. An iPhone & iPod dock also lets you play your tunes from them through the radio.
Vita Audio R1 deluxe tabletop radio The beautiful Vita Audio R1 is a gorgeous tabletop DAB radio with 10 station presets and top-notch sound quality. It’s easy to use, comes in three rather sophisticated finishes and a handy carry handle and headphone output, should you wish to place it in the bedroom.
Revo Renaissance Another entry from Revo. This time we’ve got something a little more classic-looking. The Renaissance Radio is what Revo describes as a reinterpretation of European table radio designs from the 1960s. It’s delightful mishmash of walnut veneer and aluminium. Features include DAB+ and internet radio with Wi-Fi, access to over 11,000 internet radio stations and an iPod dock.
