Feel the prestige with Cowon's D3 PMP
Cowon's iPod touch-bothering D3
With all the fuss over Mobile World Congress and the release of Android Honeycomb, it’s easy to forget that phones and tablets aren’t the only places you can find Google’s mobile OS lurking these days.
Take the Cowon D3, for instance – or “the Prestige MP3 player” as it prefers to call itself. This pocketable baby comes with Android pre-loaded and boasts a high-end – dare we say prestigious – set of features that make it a viable-looking iPod touch alternative for those who still want a dedicated personal media player.
For starters, it has a 3.7in AMOLED screen that comes in at a video-friendly 800×480 resolution. Cowon’s usual kitchen sink full of video, audio and picture format compatibility is here too, as you’d expect, while a TV tuner and FM radio add further media possibilities to the pot.
Wireless connectivity comes courtesy of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so you can happily surf away online, and you’ve also got an HDMI output and microSD card slot on board. Storage comes in at 32GB, while Cowon has even thrown in an integrated speaker for some low-rent music appreciation sessions while out and about.
The Cowon D3 will be available on February 15, but is available to pre-order now for £279.
