Facebook Music on the way?
Facebook – coming with tunes soon?
Facebook could be set to release its own music streaming service. Reports are rife on the web, thanks to the fact that Spotify’s chief designer has just been poached by the social networking giant.
Rasmus Andersson, previously the head of Spotify’s looks and build has jumped ship to Facebook to work on projects as yet unknown – but given his track record in streaming music services, and the gap in Facebook’s portfolio for such a service, people have been putting two and two together and making Facebook Music.
Confirming the move on his personal blog, Andersson said: “I believe Facebook is a very interesting entity which is changing the way we look at the internet in large. I’m thrilled and very happy to become a part of that.”
He went on to say: “For me, working with basic human needs (music, social interaction, etc) in an aspect where peoples lives are being improved, has always been the focus of my professional life, thus both Spotify and now Facebook.”
With over 500 million subscribers, Facebook would bring a massive potential audience to any bands featured on the site, so it’s likely that record companies would be keen to get on board to promote their hottest new acts.

Gadget show is more show than gadget now and has lost its appeal except to those seeking silly 'entertainment' - and YES 2m people can be wrong ;-)
