Fabric mouse on show, weird or wonderful?
It’s not often that something as simple as a computer mouse catches our attention, but this fabric creation from designer Joey Roth certainly stands out from the crowd.
Look at the mouse from the top or sides, and it looks like nothing more than a few cut off pieces of carpet, stacked on top of each other. There’s a small slit at the front – separating the two mouse buttons, and there’s a scroll wheel neatly situated in the centre.
The rest of of the mouse looks beautifully well made, with a wooden section in the centre, housing the components underneath, and a brushed aluminium bottom section, with a cut-out for the optical gubbins.
It’s easy to imagine that the fabric mouse – which is set to be displayed by Roth as part of the American Design Club’s Use Me exhibit this month – is comfortable to use for hours on end, and it’s definitely like no other.
However, we can’t help but feel that it looks a bit… tatty… next to an all-aluminium MacBook Pro. What do you guys think? Weird or wonderful? Leave a comment below and let us know.

It looks like an old school blackboard duster, and that's not to say it's a bad thing, atleast it's a bit different!

Different yes, but i can imagine it lacks the satisfying "click" when you push the buttons. Wouldn't mind it for work though, something nice and soft to rest your hand on all day. Definitely seems a tad unfinished aesthetically.

It looks like a dead mouse! Can't imagine the shape would be that comfortable. Do you clean the mouse with a hoover?

I agree that it looks like an old blackboard duster, and I guess it will start to look really tatty and grubby fairly quickly. I imagine that even though it's soft, it's not that comfortable to use. I find that most computer mice are too small, so my hand ends up contorted into an uncomfortable position. These designers should start thinking about properly comfortable mice instead of gimmicky items like this.

Well, I think it is both weird and wonderful. Being it is really unusual and that compared to the Mac Pro, the Mac is Simple and True (Cant think of the correct word!!!!) and what it is (Not a bad think all compliments) and the Mouse is the same it suits and compliments the Mac, But also does look a bit scruffy!
