Electrolux releases vacuum cleaner iPod dock Clean up your listening habits

We’ve seen some odd iPod docks in our time, but nothing quite like this vacuum cleaner-dock mashup from Electrolux.

The Silence Amplified is based on the ultra-quiet Electrolux UltraSilencer, and to demonstrate just how quiet it really is, its maker has cut an iPod-shaped hole in it so you can charge your ‘Pod and listen to music while cleaning the house.

Electrolux says that its eco-friendly dust-buster produces just 68 decibels of noise – the equivalent of a normal human conversation – so is quite capable of getting on with the job without interrupting your listening pleasure.

Electrolux has even gone as far as creating a dedicated website where punters can create the ideal home-cleaning playlist based on the nature of their vacuuming task – it claims hard rock gets the job done quickest, incidentally.

Sadly, however, the Silence Amplified is nothing more than a marketing concept, though Electrolux joked it would consider mass-producing it if it received “a million” pre-orders. Where do we sign up?
