Edifier's Breathe - and it's not just a pretty face either
If you’re looking for an iPod dock sure to turn heads, the Edifier Breathe could be just the ticket.
The Breathe, also called the iF600, features a distinctive half-moon design that gives your iPod or iPhone pride of place directly on top.
But eye-catching though it is, the Breathe is about far more than just looks. A pair of 9W speakers cover the mid-range and tweeter frequencies, and together with a meaty downward-angled 30W subwoofer combine to create rich, room-filling sound.
You can control music playback via the supplied remote control, and iPhone users will appreciate the Music Pause function, which automatically suspends playback when a call is coming in.
Other music players can be ushered in through the side door thanks to the presence of a 3.5mm auxiliary port, though you’ll have to live without the integrated playback controls.
It’s a package that strikes a fine balance between looks and performance, and the Edifier Breathe iF600 can be yours by popping down to your nearest John Lewis with £169 going spare.
