Dyson unveils 104,000 RPM DC35 vacuum Slimline cleaning power in 15-minute bursts

What’s wireless, rotates at 104,000RPM and will clean your home in 15 minutes? Dyson’s brand new DC35 Digital Slim vacuum cleaner, that’s what.

The DC35, as it’s otherwise known, is a handheld vacuum that works on rechargeable batteries, meaning no power cable, while the high-speed motor is so small to be nearly non-existent itself.

“The digital motor is light, small and powerful, which means the DC35 can be light, small and powerful,” explains Dyson front man James Dyson, who goes on to point out that the DC35’s motor spins five times faster than a Formula 1 engine. Of course, it’s also much lighter and can’t propel a car around at 200 miles per hour, but it’s an impressive point nonetheless.

And our claim at the top that the DC35 can clean your home in 15 minutes is itself slightly misleading – that’s how long the vacuum’s battery will last before needing a recharge, so you’ll need to move quickly.

Still, for an elegant handheld cleaning solution Dyson once again scores top marks for both design and innovation, and the DC35 goes on sale on January 4 for £199.
