Dyson Air Multiplier fan kills the blades!
The Dyson Air Multiplier; we're its biggest fans
The bods at Dyson have done it again. They’ve come up with an invention that’s completely whacky that looks set to revolutionise a genre. We’re talking about the Dyson Air Multiplier: the world’s first bladeless fan!
The Dyson Air Multiplier is actually a desktop fan, but the beauty of this hi-tech piece of equipment is the way it works without blades. But it’s not some dark form of warlockery that makes this work. Instead it’s a fan inside the canister at the bottom, which pumps out air through a small ring around the sounds of that hoop.
The design means two things: firstly there’s no chance of getting a finger sliced off by a whirring blade like a salami in a meat cutter. And secondly the air pumped out is smoother and fresher.
The only thing that’s not nice about the Dyson Air Multiplier is the price. It’s all up in your face with a tag of £199. Expensive yes. But what’s the alternative? A £1.99, floppy-blade handheld fan from the airport? We know whcih one we’ll plump for…

My Dad had something like this for his compressor made from turned aluminium back in the early 90's and this is a great idea, but *how much*? I guess Dyson's recession proof...?
