In celebration of Scalextric’s 50th bithday, the company is releasing a special anniversary box set – a one-off collection themed on the original, The Italian Job. Better be quick on the ignition, though, as there’s only 4,000 boxes waiting to be towed away from store shelves.
The legendary Austin Cooper MK1 Mini automobiles look exact in every detail, right down to the personalized numberplates. Whether you’d want to risk scratching that glorious paintwork is another matter, especially as this collection is priced at a cool £95.
Complete the full Italian Job experience by dressing up in a dodgy brown suit, and putting on a ridiculous cockney accent, repeating: “You’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off”, until your car flies off the track, or your wife shoots you. Whichever comes first.
