Cyclops remote control ready for CES
The Cyclops remote - more buttons than sense?
Say what you like about the Cyclops remote control, but it’s certainly not like any other remote you’ve ever laid eyes on.
Six months after the first concept model was shown off, the company behind the Cyclops – GenosTV – says it’s ready to put its brainchild into production and will be showing off working models at CES early next month.
Featuring a full QWERTY keyboard along with all the usual controls you’d expect on a conventional remote, but the round form factor and two-handed use fly in the face of traditional remote control design.
There’s still very little known about what’s inside the Cyclops rounded shell, but we presume it communicates by infrared, at the very least. All will no doubt become clear at CES, where GenosTV will no doubt be trying to attract the attention of some of the big name HD TV players. If they’re anything like the general public, we expect it won’t be too difficult.
