Canon EOS 60D gets official
Canon EOS 60D – 18 megapixel monster
The Canon EOS 60D has finally been made official. The Canon 50D’s sucessor has been a long time coming, but some tasty specs mean that it could be well worth the wait…
The Canon EOS 60D packs a massive 18-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, with a DIGIC 4 processor tucked underneath that can shoot up to 5.3fps, and allow for in-camera RAW image editing.
The ISO range on the Canon EOS 60D is similarly impressive – it covers 100-6400, and is extendable to 12,800 It’s SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card friendly, and there’s an HDMI port for viewing your creations on your TV if you get bored of the 3-inch LCD screen.
The major addition to the Canon EOS 60D is HD video – the new DSLR offering gives us 1080p full-HD H.264 video at up to 30fps, and 720p at 60fps.
The Canon EOS 60D goes on sale in October, with a rather considerable body-only price of £1,099.99 – and lens kits include 18-55mm, 18-135mm, 17-55mm and 17-85mm variations.

Yay 1st comment :) I've got a 450D which I love, and maybe in the future I'll look at upgrading to one of the higher end bodies. I don't quite know how this will fit in among the current bodies. The 7D is a great camera, as is the 50D, and the 5D isn't bad either! I'm not at all fussed about in camera RAW processing - my copy of PS CS5 cost nearly £1000!

Well, I guess it's now official ... Canon have totally lost the plot. A couple of years in the making, spending a whole wedge of money, and what do they come up with ? The 60D - £50 cheaper than the 7D, but with lower specs. Congrats to Canon on finding that illusive point in the market place, that doesn't exist.

Canon 60D is an hd camcorder. Does the camcorder support VGA (640x480) video? If I want to update it to my myspace, what tool is necessary? Do I need an hd video converter on windows or mac for it (I don’t which os will support it, maybe two), I’v purchased an ifunia hd video converter for my iphone 4, which can easily convert between popular HD video formats and down-convert HD videos to SD (Standard-Definition) videos.

Dear Gadet Show, I have watched the Gadget Show for many years and I have enjoyed every minute of it but I do find that there is something missing. I am disabled and confined to a wheelchair and as things are changing all the time I think it would be nice if some time in the future you could devote part of your show and you show some of the advanced in wheelchair design and how a lot of gabgets can help disabled people. Keep up the good work. Thanks Ian
