Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS screams "touch me!" Canon joins the touchscreen party with its latest compact camera

The Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS is the latest snapper to hit the bloated compact camera market. So what’s this got to make it stand out? Only a finger-friendly touchscreen – as is the feature du jour in Snapper land at the moment!

Aside from the prod-tastic display, the Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS comes packing more extras than a Ridley Scott epic. But it’s that touchscreen that takes the Russell Crowe lead.

The three-inch display gives you “fingertip control” over heaps of functions. What that means is you’ll be able to killer saps just by tapping the screen, flick through your shots as you would on an iPhone and select different modes via icons. Easy, thy name is IXUS 200 IS.

Feature Control is also aboard the Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS. What that means is that you have the ability to assign your own digit–based dancing to everything from tagging snaps to erasing them altogether. It’s called the Touch Actions feature and it’s a neat little function.

Aside from the touch-tastic tech, the Canon Digital IXUS 200 IS is also a decent compact camera. It has a 12.1-megapixel sensor, 5x ultra-wide angle zoom and optical image stabiliser for your mate Shakey Hands Michael. There’s also 720p video capture and HDMI. And all for £329. It’s out next September and we can’t wait to get hands-on with it.
