Can Acer's new Aspire One netbook make you Happy?
Along with showing off its new Aspire Timeline X series, Acer has also announced the bizarrely titled Acer Aspire One Happy netbook. Does it have what it takes to make you happy? Read on to find out.
Although netbooks were the next big thing during 2008, these tiny laptops have died off somewhat with the arrival of the Apple iPad and the rest of its tablet rivals. That doesn’t mean they’re gone completely, however, as the Acer Aspire One Happy shows.
The compact 10.1-inch screen features a 1024×600-pixel resolution. It’s pretty low rent, and we’re used to seeing much sharper panels, but it should help to keep the cost of the Happy to a minimum, and being affordable is something that netbooks do best.
This machine is perfect for younger users, and is available in a range of bright colours, ‘Banana Cream’, ‘Blueberry Shake’, ‘Papaya Milk’ and ‘Strawberry Yogurt’ included.
Specs are predictably low – a 1.66GHz Atom processor, up to 2GB of memory, and an Intel graphics card. It’s not powerful, but it’s more than enough for a Word document or for checking Facebook on the move, and it also helps to give up to eight hours of battery life.
With a price tag of just £229, the Acer Aspire One Happy makes a lot of sense if your requirements are simple. Why pay more if you only want to loaf around on the internet?
