BlackBerry Gemini 9300 throws a Curve ball
The BlackBerry Curve gets a twin; RIM calls it Gemini. We see what they did there...
Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the BlackBerry Gemini 9300. Is it just us or do BlackBerry names just get better and better? First we had the Pearl. Then there was the Curve. Recently we’ve had the Bold and the Storm and now we’ve got the Gemini!
Anyway, we digress. The Gemini is essentially an upgraded Curve 8900 that’s laden with awesome features. As well as a slightly larger screen than the 8900, it’s got super-speedy HSDPA connectivity, so emails ping around faster than a ping pong ball in a table tennis match with Forrest Gump. Then there’s the improved CPU, Wi-Fi, GPS and a built-in camera (we’re still not sure of the megapixel count, but it’s likely to be 3.2 or above).
So when’s the dawning of the age of Gemini? It seems RIM is holding off until late 2009/early 2010. Why we’re not too sure, but by that time, it’ll probably have another BlackBerry ready to launch as well. Here’s hoping they call it the BlackBerry Awesomo or Hero, or something like that.
