Asus getting cosy with Kindle
Asus and Amazon have just cosied up to strike a deal that will see Kindle software come pre-loaded on a string of netbooks.
The deal will see the likes of the Asus UL30 and Eee PC 1005PE come toting the eBook goodies, although that’ only if you buy them directly from Amazon.
Users can then get their mitts on Amazon’s eBook store on their Asus, as well as making the most of its Whispersync technology, that allows wireless downloads, as well as saving and synching on the hop across multiple devices.
“We are thrilled that customers will begin to enjoy the Kindle for PC experience right out of the box with ASUS devices,” said an Asus spokesperson.
So will we see Amazon’s Kindle goodies appearing on any future Asus releases, such as the forthcoming Eee Pad tablet? Watch this space to find out…
