Asus launches teeny Eee Box 1501

Asus has unveiled its ultra-compact Eee Box 1501 desktop PC. But the latest addition to the Eee family isn’t just happy on the desktop. With decidedly compact dimensions of less than 20cm square and just 4cm high, you can stick the Eee Box 1501 pretty much anywhere, including standing upright or even mounted on the back of a monitor.
It may be small, but you don’t get short-changed on the features front. There’s still room for a DVD drive, a dedicated graphics card with Full HD upscaling and a dual-core Intel Atom processor.
Its impressive home entertainment credentials including an HDMI port, 5.1 surround sound support and a supplied remote. It also claims to be 50 per cent quieter and use 70 per cent less power than conventional desktops. The Asus Eee Box 1501 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-loaded, and is available now for £339.
