Asus Eee PC 1015PX joins the netbook market

Not content to leave the mini computer market to the Apple iPad and its tablet rivals, Asus has started shipping the latest version of its Eee PC netbook – the Asus Eee PC 1015PX.

What’s new about the Eee PC 1015PX, we hear you cry? Spec-wise, Asus’ latest netbook features a 10.1-inch screen, and although it keeps this machine small and light, the 1024×600-pixel resolution is a little underwhelming.

There may not be enough space to fit a couple of windows onscreen simultaneously, but at least you can have one application running in the background if you want, thanks to the dual-core Atom processor.

Asus has stuck with traditional tech when it comes to storage, with a 250GB hard drive used instead of solid state storage. Other features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0.

There’s nothing revolutionary about the Asus Eee PC 1015PX then, but Asus is claiming a battery life of up to 11 hours – easily enough to keep you working for the entire day.
