Asus announces noise-cancelling NC1 cans Cut the noise with Asus' new NC1 headphones

We’re seeing a good few headphones being announced right now, and Asus has just joined the party with the active noise cancelling NC1.

And it’s clear Asus isn’t just in it to make up the numbers, either, with the NC1s boasting some impressive specs to go along with its business-like fold-flat looks.

The noise cancellation is of the active sort, meaning the headphones constantly monitor ambient noise and generate opposing sound waves to cancel it out. Asus claims a full 87 per cent of ambient noise is magically whisked away, which it says makes the NC1s the most efficient headphones in their sector.

The 40mm speaker drivers feature neodymium magnets for “faithful reproduction and dynamic bass performance in every usage scenario”. And they’re not power-hungry either – you can get up to 100 hours of music playback from a single triple-A battery.

Sounds good to us. Now all that’s left is for Asus to tell us just when we’ll be able to get our hands on the NC1 headphones, and how much they’ll cost.
