Asus and B&O collaborate on turntable-laptop duet
Asus' B&O-powered lappie
Asus has revealed the NX90Jq, a laptop designed and inspired by Bang & Olufsen that features turntable-style touchpads and other hi-fi-inspired touches.
The unusual touchpads sit either side of the keyboard, and together with the NX90Jq’s polished aluminium casing, a whopping 18.4in HD display and silver and black styling cues make for a bold piece of computing equipment clearly designed to be at home in high-tech living rooms.
As you would expect from a B&O-inspired product, audio quality places highly on the NX90Jq’s list of priorities, with B&O ICEpower speakers running down the side of the screen, which uses a Nvidia GeForce GT 334M graphics chip to deliver top-notch pictures along with the premium sound.
With 1280GB of storage on board, Asus isn’t shy in giving you plenty of space to store high-octane multimedia, while unsurprisingly a Blu-ray drive is built in for high-end movie playback.
No news yet on what this entertainment powerhouse will cost, but we’re fairly confident filing it in the “not cheap” category.
