Armani joins the 3D glasses fashion show
Good looking, and plenty clever too
It’s been a while since we’ve had some nice new designer 3D specs to ogle. Around CES they were coming out of the woodwork thick and fast, presumably to go with all those 3D tellies that were popping up at Las Vegas.
So it’s nice to see Armani Exchange keeping the faith with these babies. Their sleek lines very much show off just how far 3D shades have come in the last year or so, with none of the chunkiness we used to have to put up with.
They’re compatible with the RealD format – the most popular used in cinemas today – and feature a multi-layered mirrored lens coating that Armani says enhances contrast and provides superior viewing at any time.
But of course it’s watching movies that you’re really interested in, and – we’re told – the optically correct six-base curved lenses feature circular polarised technology that promises edge-to-edge distortion-free viewing. In other words, they work really well.
So far we’ve only seen a $58 US price for these 3D specs, but we reckon that’s a price worth paying for such a good-looking dose of high-tech coolness.
