Archos unveils new PMPs; they're a Vision
Archos new affordable Vision range of PMPs: here to put a smile on bargain hunters
Fancy a portable media player, but don’t want to outlay a month’s wages? Archos, the French company that’s made more PMPs than David Beckham has money (well, maybe not), has introduced an affordable range of Vision players.
First up is the tiny Archos Clipper. Costing no more than two of your hard-earned tenners, the Clipper is described by Archos as an “ultra-mini” MP3 player and weighs just 20g – perfect for strapping to your arm when hitting the tarmac for a few miles. With 2GB of storage space it’ll hold over 100 MP3 or WMA files.
Next up, we have the Archos 2 Vision. As the name suggests it has a two-inch screen and is about the size of a switch card. It won’t rinse your account dry either, costing £49.99. So what do you get for your buck? A touchscreen display with scrolling abilities, 8GB of storage space (that’s 4,000 songs!) and a microSD card slot for expansion. You can’t get much more than that for your money!
Finally the top-of-the-affordable-range, the Archos 3 Vision. Strutting in with a three-inch touchscreen, 8GB of storage, 14 hours of battery life, video playback, an FM transmitter, a stopwatch, a calendar, and a composite cable for TV hook-up, this bad boy will set you back £89.99. Bearing in mind an 8GB iPod nano starts from £107 and doesn’t have a touchscreen, that’s a pretty sweet deal.
