Archos joins Android revolution
This is the Archos 5, which Archos says its new Android internet tablet will look like
What do you get if you cross a mobile phone running Android with an Archos 5. Well, according to Archos, you get the something called an Internet Media Tablet.
That’s right, Archos has announced that it’s working on a new internet tablet that will run the operating system du jour – Android. It’ll be of a similar size to the Archos 5 PMP (pictured), measuring just 1cm thick, and feature a five-inch screen. In addition to that the French company has managed to stick in full Adobe Flash, Flash Video support, HD video playback, and a huge 500GB of storage space. It’ll also have a battery life of seven hours.
Archos has said that it’ll run like a full-size PC adding that with the integration of voice, the company’s looking to expand beyond just portable media players to provide solutions for the “converged space”. Quite. Well, this certainly sounds like the device to do that. Whatever that is.
