Apple's new iMac unveiled
Apple iMac – now "turbocharged"
Apple’s new iMac has officially landed, following a week of feverish web speculation. And Apple’s calling its latest creation “turbocharged”. Read on to find out why…
The new all-in-one machines pack in the latest Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors, as well as updated ATI Radeon HD 5750 graphics.
The 21.5 inch version of the iMac now offers Core i3 processors up to 3.2GHz, or a 3.6GHz Core i5. The 27-inch iMac goes even further, with the option of a 2.93Ghz Quad-core i7 processor, which should speed things up considerably.
There’s a minimum of 4GB memory inside each new iMac, upgradeable to 16GB, and hard drives now start at 500GB, upgradable with solid-state 256GB options or up to 2TB of disk storage in 27-inch iMacs.
The new iMac will also handle cards in SDXC format, giving you an potential 64GB of removable storage.
As you’d expect, there’s all the standard Bluetooth, N-standard Wi-Fi and one Firewire 800 port, and Apple’s now standard-issue LED backlighting.
The new Apple iMac is out now and prices start from £999.
Apple has also released the anticipated 27in LED Cinema Display – but while it’s appeared with a $999 price tag in the US, the display is simply marked as “coming soon” on the UK Apple Store.

Dear The Gadget Show, I think all of your programs are brilliant, but I would love you do do a review of the new iMac 21.5inch, as I think this is a really important announcement and that you should do a review. Kind Regards, Daniel
