Apple takes on Flip with video equipped iPod nano
Apple's newest nano shoots video too - take that, Flip!
The runaway success of cheap, flash based camcorders like the Flip Mino hasn’t escaped Apple’s notice and it’s now tackling them head on with its latest iPod nano.
The new nano can now not only play music but also shoot video too. There’s a camera on the back and it’ll happily chew up 640×480 pixel resolution video and save it to its internal memory.
Once you’re back at your PC, just link it up and iPhoto will transfer your mini-masterpieces across and even bang them straight up to YouTube with minimal fuss.
It’s not all about the video, though – there are a few extra treats for loyal music fans too. There’s an FM tuner built in and you can even pause live radio and pickup right where you left off. If a song you love comes on, you can also tag it and then find it and buy it from iTunes next time you sync.
If that all wasn’t enough, Apple has also thrown in a built in pedometer making the nano your own personal trainer too. The 8GB version if available now for £115 and the 16GB model will set you back £135.
