Apple replacing faulty iPod Nanos
Do you own an Apple iPod nano? If so, and you have a particular model, Apple wants to give you a new one! Apple has announced that it is to replace all first-generation iPod Nanos after a fault was discovered in its batteries, causing them to pose a safety risk. If you’re one of the many who purchased one, read on.
A faulty battery in the original iPod Nano is causing the music player to overheat. This may cause a safety risk, says Apple.
Apple iPod nano sixth generation review
Owners of current generation iPod Nanos need not worry though – the fault applies only to iPad Nanos purchased between September and December 2006. So if you have one, now is the time to sign up to Apple’s iPod Nano Replacement Program.
Why Siri will only work on iPhone 4S
Each iPod Nano will be checked to ensure that it is compatible. If successful, owners will receive a replacement in just six weeks. Details on how to identify a first-generation iPod nano are up on the Replacement Program website. So be sure to check that out before flinging your Nano into the post.
Whether you’ll get a shiny new design Nano, or Apple has been hoarding original models from the start, just in case, remains to be seen.
Has your Apple iPod Nano been playing up?

They really do sent a new 6th Gen iPod for your old 1st Gen. Got mine about 8 weeks after I sent it off but I think the delays where because of Christmas and New Years. Mine was just gathering dust and now its a brand new 8GB Nano!!! (I send off a 4GB one)
