Amazon Kindle Fire coming to UK this January
The UK has been made to wait, but it looks like the Amazon Kindle Fire will finally be launching here very soon. A source inside Amazon UK has spilled the beans on what could be a warm January welcome for the Kindle Fire.
Designed purely for enjoying enjoying media such as digital books, movies and games, the Amazon Kindle Fire could be the Apple iPad’s strongest competitor, given the success Amazon’s Kindle currently enjoys.

While no exact release date has been officially confirmed, the source inside the online store claims that Amazon’s most advanced tablet yet will arrive in January, just missing out on the chance to appear on Christmas wish lists.
Unfortunately we don’t have a UK price just yet. In the U.S, the Amazon Kindle Fire currently goes for a modest $199 (£127). However, expect UK pricing to be slightly loftier, in the region of £190.

When it does launch, it’s sure to bring some healthy competition to other tablets. The Amazon Kindle Fire features a 7-inch multi-touch display, 1GHz dual-core processor, an 8GB memory and free Amazon cloud storage service for storing videos, e-books and games purchased from Amazon.

PEOPLE who are complaining: The reason why it is higher priced for the UK is because the USA does not pay sales tax on the Kindle Fire and you still have import duty and 20% VAT. Honestly, who writes these comments.....

RIP OFF once again. I'll be buying mine stateside and bringing it back home for a big saving... I have the advantage of having family in the states and I have bought two ipods and a kindle previously this way. Why do companies such as Amazon, Apple etc all think this practice is acceptable in a global marketplace?

as tempting as it is to buy it stateside be careful as uk customs may clobber you for duty and vat as you are importing from outside the eu, (i am an import clerk by job)
