Aliph outs Jawbone Icon style range
Designer Bluetooth headset maker Aliph has just unveiled the latest in its iconic Jawbone range – the Jawbone Icon.
The Icon is available in six different designs, each with its own personality that carries through from the device’s look and feel to the default voice that comes with the device. You get a choice between the Ace, the Hero, the Thinker, the Bombshell, the Rogue and the Catch, though these can be changed through Aliph’s MyTalk service.
Under its designer skin, however, all six Icons are identical, and that’s no bad thing. Aliph has upgraded its NoiseAssissin noise-cancelling tech, which continuously scans background noise to filter it out as much as possible, and uses the same ability to boost the sound of your voice.
You can connect up to eight devices to the Icon at any one time, and talk on two of them, while iPhone owners get a battery display on their phones showing how much juice is left in the headset.
Speaking of which, the battery should last for about four and a half hours of talktime, and 10 days on standby. For now it’s restricted to the US only, where it’s going for $100, but Aliph sells other headsets in the UK so we assume it’ll be hitting these shores too in time.
